Aggie Kessler posted a fabulous collection of lists of her favourite things, places, people, food, activities and more. The idea was to have as many items on the list as the date, so in this case 11 things. She made many lists, allowing to celebrate tons of wonderful things in her life.
I'll scale down the list to 11 things today that made me happy:
1. Tea - milky oolong for morning, mint with raspberry for break, green tea with mango after lunch.
2. My hubby - driving me to school this morning, dancing with me in a dance lesson this evening
3. My sis - calling me to share what they have been up to and listening about my life
4. My youngest - getting started with the dinner before I arrived, chopping iceberg lettuce and smoked chicken
5. A colleague - planning for a workshop at a conference together, leaving on Thursday already
6. My students - for inquiring about student led conferences and wishing to start preparing already
7. A fifth grade student - well prepared for the mentor meeting, questions and some research done
8. Google and wifi - gmail, docs, slides - connecting, planning, creating
9. Sunshine - sunshine and fresh air during the outside break helped me to stay awake
10. Slicers - sharing their stories, providing mentor texts, commenting on my slices
11. Train - walking through the city to reach it, reading slices on my way home

Sounds like you're having a great day! Thank you for the reminder to seek out things to be grateful for.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of listing things to be grateful for. I had a bit of a rough day at school worrying about some stuff. But your post made me stop the worrying and think of the good things about my day! Attentive students listening to me read, followed by an insightful discussion of our novel, a good friend and colleague helping me feel better about my worries. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful list, each embedded in a micro story, each both familiar and distant, a reminder that seemingly little things make a tremendous impact on a life.
