No-hurry Saturday - say "yes"

During the Slice of Life Story Challenge in March people are invited to write a slice every day for 31 days. You can read the slices at Two Writing Teachers.

No-hurry Saturday.
No plans.
Say "yes" day.
Mimm's favorite day
My favorite day.

We can do anything we want?
Yes.
Take a train to a city?
Yes.
Go to a cafe?
Yes.
Order anything we want?
Yes.

And we did. We took a train to Tallinn, read books on the hour long ride, walked on the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, entered a small cafe, admired the colorful display of sweets, ordered two slices of berry cakes and two cups of hot cocoa, spooned the fluffy foam from the drinks, savored each bite of the cakes, chatted about mundane and special, and laughed.

No-hurry Saturday.
No plans.
Say "yes" day.
Mimm's favorite day
My favorite day.

Waiting for a hot cocoa. Mimm looked so small in the armchair.

  2. A "yes" day sounds perfect! (Have you read that book "Yes Day!" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal/Tom Lichtenheld?) Love that picture. What a way to spend a Saturday!

  4. When I come visit you, can we have a "Yes-Day"??? It looks and sounds so wonderful! And that picture of Mimm is just too cute. It would be perfect printed large in a library! :)

  10. And that's why I love Saturdays too! Mostly my husband and I just do anything we want to that day. Of course, that means some chores NEVER get done. But, like you and Mimm, I'd rather have a "Yes" day than any other kind of day! Sweet, sweet picture!

  12. I always seem to notice things in pictures that aren't really the focus or purpose of the picture - whatever that is on that plate looks yummy! Love your yes day!
