play and create

Two Writing Teachers - a meeting place on Tuesdays

Slice of Life Story Challenge ended yesterday. A month of daily writing behind. Yay! A new month ahead. Surprise - Tuesday slice of life writing due today. It was not really a surprise, but nevertheless, I wasn't prepared. No notebook today. No bright ideas. Not much time either. One thing that I have learned during the challenge is to look for inspiration around you and play with what is available.
I have seen other slicers playing with lines from slices or comments to create found poems. I looked closer to home, and played with my slice titles from last month. In honor of April Poetry Month - here is my creation.

How is it going?

If you are not sure what to do
breathe and play
read aloud
sort thoughts
take some imagination
create your own slice

No hurry
say yes

When you get an idea
write it down

  1. Love it Terje. Great poem! Love the learning too. So much around us. I'm going to look for pieces to to together today.

  3. Great way to start Poetry month. You are right, all we have to do is look around us for inspiration.

  5. Love this idea! I think it's fun that you look back, too, at all you've done the last month. :)

  6. I had thought to use my titles too, but then no inspiration struck and I abandoned the notion. I'm glad you were able to piece together this very clever poem. Happy Tuesday, my friend!

  7. How do you do it, Terje?! Another great idea...one that I will definitely have to try out.

  8. A playful post. Inspiration does come from others and sometimes you just need to observe and write.

  10. What a great way to create a poem! You did it once again without a lot of time - but a brilliant idea!
